TimberTech Tip: TimberTech does not recommend the use of vinyl or rubber-backed mats on any XLM deck planks. There is an antioxidant reaction that commonly occurs when a mat with rubber backing is laid on vinyl decking products. This reaction causes discoloration of the decking under the mat. Please be aware that only mats that have backing clearly marked "safe for use on vinyl" should be used on XLM decking.
